The Shadoks Turn 50: An Animated RevolutionReturn
Description : In partnership with Le Shadok, Fabrique du Numérique, the Tomi Ungerer Museum is offering visitors an opportunity to (re)discover the French animated television series created in 1968 by Jacques Rouxel and René Borg. Imbued with the surrealism of Alfred Jarry, and full of quirky humour, these little stick figures bear witness to the cultural and social upheaval of that time. They became symbols of counterculture, setting the pace on French television for three decades. Through a selection of 120 preparatory drawings, storyboards and cels presented alongside the films, the creation process is presented, demonstrating just how much Jacques Rouxel’s inventiveness and high-quality work revolutionised the world of animation. Part of the Rencontres de l’Illustration in Strasbourg.
