Living in Koenigshoffen in Roman times

 Return

Description : The creation of Koenigshoffen, a village just a few kilometres from the Argentorate military camp from which Strasbourg eventually grew, is closely linked to the presence of the Roman army in the region from the first century A.D. onwards. The excavations recently carried out as part of the “Porte des Romains” project (Roman gate) have once again highlighted the rich archaeological heritage of this western area of Strasbourg.
