 Return

Description :

The exhibition is dedicated to a phenomenon that emerged in Protestant academic circles in the 16th century, characteristic of the Germanic world: friendship books, or Stammbücher. The finest of these albums or notebooks, in which the album’s owner would ask his friends to write a text, a saying or a poem, or insert a drawing, a watercolour, a coat of arms, etc., are true works of art.
